Science

Science is the attempt to set in order the facts of experience. For thousands of years humans have continuously strove to unravel the mysteries of the world around us. "True" science is based a process, the scientific method, which I will outline the normal modern interpretation.

The Scientific Method (according to wikipedia)

Multiple steps are needed in scientific method, ranging from our experience to our imagination, back and forth.
In the twentieth century, a hypothetico-deductive model for scientific method was formulated (for a more formal discussion, see below):

1. Use your experience: Consider the problem and try to make sense of it. Look for previous explanations. If this is a new problem to you, then move to step 2.
2. Form a conjecture: When nothing else is yet known, try to state an explanation, to someone else, or to your notebook.
3. Deduce a prediction from that explanation: If you assume 2 is true, what consequences follow?
4. Test: Look for the opposite of each consequence in order to disprove 2. It is a logical error to seek 3 directly as proof of 2. This error is called affirming the consequent.

This model underlies the scientific revolution. Few people understand the the world science wasn't even developed until after the invention of the printing press. Science is a consequence of homogeneity of the visual space ration which became drastically out of balance with the rest of the senses after the widespread adoption of print. Also at the same time nationalism erupted throughout Europe. Printing Press invented around 1420-1455. By 1550 most of Europe was a collection of nation-states though still controlled by monarchical systems. Very soon though the rise of the corporations changed the political dynamics of Europe....(Cromwell).

Science is the quest to understand the unknown, to dispel the tyranny of ignorance and superstition which have plagued humanity for tens of thousands of years. That''s not to say that all throughout history individuals and groups have striven to sense, experiment, commune, perceive, and understand the world. Many tribes have understanding of plants which far surpasses our rudimentary and antiseptic knowledge of biology.

University establishments has become corrupted by big money interests to maintain a narrow focus of research in areas which although inefficient and harmful are extremely profitable. Belief shape agendas and can alter observations; those with a particular belief or agenda will often see things as reinforcing their belief, even if to another observer they would appear not to do so. Even researchers admit that the first observation may have been a little imprecise. This is not pure science.

All major scientific work now is generally funded and controlled by large governments, large corporations, and large universities which are the arms of the military-industrial-educational complex.

It is every individual's responsibility to apply the scientific method to all data being received from the senses and continuously updating one's understanding of the world-around. We have the internet thanks to the U.S. Federal Government and various large corporations. Use it. Everyone can do science and share it with the world. Get Busy!!! Let us be free from our dependency on large organizations whether honest or corrupt. They are necessary to do expensive research but many of the most fundamental and stunning scientific revelations were discovered by one person with limited funds. Take for example Michael Faraday and Tesla who together unleashed electrical understanding on the world.
