Precession

Precession is one of the fundamental mechanic forces such as leverage or torque. It is the effect of moving bodies on moving bodies and the force radiates outward perpendicular. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. These 180-degree imposed forces also result in re-directional resultants of 90 degrees and really spherically in all directions. If every action has and EQUAL and OPPOSITE force like say the amount of force delivered to a wall when struck causes simultaneously an equal and opposite force against the object which struck the wall. Some energy,equally shared, between object and wall is radiated wave-like in all directions possible in the medium, in this case the wall. This is a blunt illustration.

Most of us understand precession as the rotation of the axial line of the earth caused by gravitational effects of the moon. The precession of the equinoxes of astrology is based on this largely unknown force. Every sphere in a cluster of rotating spheres will begin to rotate if only one sphere is rotated. Precession is nearly the fundamental force in atomic and molecular construction and chemistry.

Precession is the name given to the process of one part rotating with respect to another due to fretting between the two. It is described as "precession, in which a round object rolling in a circular ring in one direction will itself turn in the opposite direction." "In machinery, fretting is the micro-motion of tightly fitting parts that superficially appear immobile with respect to each other."

"For a pedal, a rotating load arises from downward pedaling force on a spindle rotating with its crank making the predominantly downward force effectively rotate about the pedal spindle. What may be less evident is that even tightly fitting parts have relative clearance due to their elasticity, metals not being rigid materials as is evident from steel springs. Under load, micro deformations, enough to cause motion, occur in such joints. This can be seen from wear marks where pedal spindles seat on crank faces."

Fretting-induced precession is a purely mechanical process which does not depend on inertia and is not inversely proportional to spin rate. It is completely unrelated to torque-free and torque-induced precession.

Buckminster Fuller sometimes defines precession: as the effect of one motion system on another motion system which results in a plurality of complementary transformation accommodations.
This is somewhat cryptic and abstract in relation to our normal language structures. What is a motion system? A motion system any balanced structure which is in motion. An atom, molecule, cell, body, and even perhaps cultures and societies. So one molecule interacting with another molecule will result in a plurality of complementary transformation accommodations. In layman''s turns the interaction will result in many mutual transformations.

Also: Gravity begets radiation begets gravity. Tension begets compression begets tension. Pull on two ends of a rope, and its strands are squeezed even more tightly together. Where two very general aspects of nature always and only co-exist, and their relationship is generally precessional.

Apparently gravity is perpendicular to radiation electromagnetic fields. Although perpendicular is a misnomer particularly since then true dimensions of physical reality are not Cartesian. A polar coordinate system is a little more appropriate although Buckminster Fuller outlines his total geometry in Synergetics. I must admit after reading it once the material flew over my head. He introduces his geometrical structure with words used in the mainstream geometry but the words point to different topics. An electric current flowing through a wire will produce a magnetic field rotationally around the wire. This could be considered perpendicular although in a polar coordinate system. A flow in a straight line produces a flow around the line. This is a two-dimensional explanation of a interaction that is at least 3 dimensional. Perihelion precession
Planets revolving the Sun follow elliptical (oval) orbits that rotate gradually over time (apsidal precession). The eccentricity of this ellipse is exaggerated for visualization. Most orbits in the Solar System have a much smaller eccentricity, making them nearly circular.
The orbit of a planet around the Sun is not really an ellipse but a flower-petal shape(connections to mandalas?) because the major axis of each planet's elliptical orbit also precesses within its orbital plane, partly in response to perturbations in the form of the changing gravitational forces exerted by other planets. This is called perihelion precession or apsidal precession.

The Inter-complementary Integrity Of The Universe

Buckminster Fuller in his consciousness-raising masterpiece Critical Path presented the idea that precession, i.e. the laws governing the interactive behaviors of all bodies in motion, had relevance to human history.

In essence he believed that consciousness itself was far too significant a reality in the cosmos for it to be without purpose. He therefore asserted that nature was supporting the success of human development despite mankind''s error, stupidity and corruption. He conceived of a force that actively helps and assists those who use their individual talents for the greater good of the greatest number. He named this phenomenon; "precession". He explains it as follows:

The big question remained: how do you obtain the money to live with and to acquire the materials and tools with which to work? Since nature was clearly intent on making humans successful in support of the integrity of eternally regenerative Universe, it seemed clear to me that if I undertook ever more humanly favorable physical-environment-producing artifact developments, that did in fact improve the chances of all humanity's successful development, it was quite possible that nature would support my efforts, provided I was choosing the successively most efficient technical means of doing so. Nature was clearly supporting all her inter-complementary ecological regenerative tasks-ergo; I must so commit myself and must depend upon nature providing the physical means of realization of my invented environment-advantaging artifacts. I noted that nature did nor require hydrogen to "earn a living" before allowing hydrogen to behave in the unique manner in which it does. Nature does not require that any if its inter-complementing members earn a living.
Because I could see that this precessional principle of self-employment was a reasonably realistic probability, I resolved to adopt such a course formally.
I assumed that nature would "evaluate" my work as I went along. If I was doing what nature wanted done, and if I was doing it in promising ways, permitted by nature''s principles, I would find my work being economically sustained and vice-versa.

I believe that this idea is expressed differently by Marshall McLuhan when he says the Medium is the Message. The precessional consequences of media alter society much more profoundly than any intentional use of a medium, content does. For the unintended consequences to new technology is that the individual humans must adapt their bodies and societal structures to wrap around the physical presence of the new device. The "moving system" of each media interacts with the "moving system" of society in many transformative ways.

All the totality of images here overlayed as an idea Precession. This idea can be applied across the entire field of existence, physical, societal, relationships, cultures, etc. Subtle is the power of "unintended consequences." Overtime residual effects sum up to create large resonate waves which sweep over any person, relationship, culture, or world. The smallest of "insignificant" actions can lead to profound results. The printing press overthrew the catholic church not because of any papers printed but because it was there. A huge wave of evolutionary structural change occurred throughout Europe then the World.

Pay attention to the unintended effects of your actions and the total field of world and study the results. You may find that precessional effects can be used consciously and then become aware that others already are.
