Consciousness

There is in fact only one state, not two states such as the conscious and the unconscious; there is only a state of being, which is consciousness, though you may divide it as the conscious and the unconscious. But that consciousness is always of the past, never of the present; you are conscious only of the things that are over. You are conscious of hearing me the second it is over, are you not?; you understand it a moment late. You are never conscious or aware of the now. Watch your own hearts and minds and you will see that consciousness is functioning between the past and the future, and that the present is merely a passage of the past to the future.
J. Krishnamurti

...for mankind aware, there is a double problem, that of Waking-Being and that of Being; or of Space and Time;...or of pulse and tension. The waking consciousness seeks to understand not only itself, but in addition something that is akin to itself. Though an inner voice may tell one that here all possibilities of knowledge are left behind, yet in spite of it, fear over-persuades--everyone--and one goes on with the search, preferring even the pretense of a solution to the alternative of looking into nothingness.
Oswald Spengler
Decline of the West Vol II

Our normal waking consciousness, rational consciousness as we call it, is but one special type of consciousness, whilst all about it, parted from it by the filmiest of screens, there lie potential forms of consciousness entirely different.
William James

The content of consciousness is consciousness

What is our consciousness? It is to be conscious of, to be aware of, what is going on, not only outside but inside; it is the same movement. Our consciousness is the product of our education, our culture, racial inheritance and the result of our own striving. All our beliefs, our dogmas, rituals, concepts, jealousies, anxieties, pleasures, our so-called love - all that is our consciousness. It is the structure which has evolved through millennia after millennia - through wars, tears, sorrow, depression and elation: all that makes up our consciousness. Some people say you cannot change consciousness. You can modify it, you can polish it, but you have to accept it, make the best of it; it is there. Without the content, consciousness, as we know it, does not exist.
J. Krishnamurti

McLuhan''s ideas of media being artifacts, technological extension of different parts of the body, are sense based. He says the true impact of the physical sense and sociological changes are the media sense ratios created by media and not any of the content of the media. The blends well with Krishnamurti's ideas of sense being primary and the content being secondary, fragmented and inconsequential compared to the unified field of all media whether of natural or human origin.

Object-oriented structure of the consciousness

Harman''s Object-Oriented Philosophy

Object-oriented philosophy first was expressed as a set of ideas by a modern philosopher Graham Harman.
From wikipedia:
According to Harman, everything is an object, whether it be a mailbox, electromagnetic radiation, curved spacetime, the Commonwealth of Nations, or a propositional attitude; all things, whether physical or fictional, are equally objects. Expressing strong sympathy for panpsychism, Harman proposes a new philosophical discipline called "speculative psychology" dedicated to investigating the "cosmic layers of psyche" and "ferreting out the specific psychic reality of earthworms, dust, armies, chalk, and stone."
Harman explains how interactions between objects can occur, but can only occur, when both objects are located in the interior of some larger, or more all-encompassing object. The universe has layers of reality, and we never get either to the bottom or to the top.

Object Oriented Programming Structures

Creating computer software is done by programming language code. The evolution of programming structures started with linear, to procedural, to modular, to object-oriented. This evolution parallels a much longer time span of evolution of human consciousness over thousands of years. Before the adoption of the phonetic alphabet man existed in either tribal or city-state or empire structures. These cultures where mainly auditory cultures meaning the primary sense was auditory. All information was spoken. These create consciousness structures that are linear. Tribal consciousness is a stream of auditory dominated sense ratios. All information was word-of mouth. Sounds come in a steady stream. The written phonetic alphabet brought about linear procedural thought which is focused on process. Now individuals and organizations could pass persistent messages across vast areas culminating in the Greek and Roman Empires. The visual sense begins to equal the auditory sense in ratio. The printing press brought forth the typographic era of modular thought, modular thought being focused on organization of homogeneous individual data units in mass. The result was nationalism and rationalism.
Is typographical man the furthest extension of auditory leading to a bridge between the auditory sense and visual sensory ratio''s ascendancy. The visual sense is now out of proportion to the other senses.

Only in the 20th century, since the advent of electric science and artifacts, has object oriented consciousness begun to organically grow up. Perhaps we can again achieve the long lost balance between the sense ratios. McLuhan says the electric media creates the global tribal village which in the 21st century will dissolve the structure of nation-states. The electric media makes connections between all other medias which enable communication near instantaneously. All ideas and physical media are objects. In object oriented programming each object is a class which have properties and methods. Properties of an object say a ball my be color red or material:rubber. Methods include ability to bounce, roll, be thrown, etc....Objects can be hierarchical and nested. Object tree contains within it objects limb, leafs, roots, etc, and is part of greater objects: forest, Earth, Universe. All the objects are the content of object oriented consciousness.

Object oriented Synthesense

I will use these ideas to make my own structure of synthesenthetic object oriented consciousness.

The universe, All-that-Is, is a unified field containing physical objects, electromagnetic and gravitational forces, consciousness, and all that I leave out and couldn't even imagine. Synthesense of all the energy foci (objects) of the unified field is Object oriented consciousness.
