Synthesense -- The Action of Attending to the Entire Unified Field

Making itself intelligible is suicide for philosophy.

All credibility, all good conscience, all evidence of truth come only from the senses.

Unified Field

This is my forum, my medium through which I will convey my 21st century philosophy via various images. These images, these ideas, are designed to promote active strategies to detect and heal a dis-ease that I see afflicting all the world's people. I call this dis-ease Image Sickness. The strategy for detection and healing of this dis-ease is attending to attention until a total synthesis of our fragmented awareness is grown. We have specialized our attention beam to focus on narrow slivers of all that is in the universe. At any one moment we attend to a limited set of possible movements. Typically in my cultural (American) people focus habitually on images either directly or produced by word connotation.

The images I convey are themselves illusions. Although I must use words, or image connotators, to communicate to you they are themselves illusions. Some off them are new and some are ideas that I feel that are helpful. Ideas or Images can be useful tools, but very often overbalanced focus on images leads to the general neurosis and fear, pain, depression, all expressions of image sickness. Any idea used consciously and non-habitually is a tool. Any idea that is habitual and compulsive is a demon, a slave master. And we are the slaves, elite to poor. This condition affects even the most powerful and wealthy individuals. The reason the elites do what harm they do is because they are themselves suffering. We must all have compassion for each other rich and poor, black and white, intelligent and simple. For we all have been hurt and suffer.

All essays on this website are to introduce and define a vocabulary that I will use to illustrate my core philosophical contribution: Synthesense. Synthesense is an image I use to point to a possible action. This personal action is to consciously attend to all available sensory stimuli simultaneously, the entire sensorium. Sensory stimuli includes seeing, listening, smell, touch, the feeling of the body, as well of awareness of emotional feeling and the movement of thought. Our thinking can be understood as the sensing of mental images. Simultaneous attention to all our senses leads to an awareness of the our single attention. The active state of attention can be observed to fragment among fault lines of our senses. Be aware that our conscious, our singular attention, is a spontaneous organizing system built of a multitude of awareness streams and biologically informational inputs. The action of attention to attention leads to an awareness of the dynamic processes of why we attend to what and how each situation is a unique combination of media which provides us information in different sensory ratios. Once conscious functional understandings of your patterns of attention are established new vistas of the possibilitilogical universe can be observed thus collapsing novel quantum states to actual physical reality.

Ground is a profound and powerful concept that is too often taken for granted. Obviously we are familiar with the earth's rocky surface which we most commonly refer to in English as the ground. Wiktionary's entry gives the etymology and common usage definitions. I think of particular interest is the definition of ground as: A level of electrical potential used as a zero reference. Here ground means a point of reference from which force differentials can be determined. The force potential is voltage, comparable with water pressure.

What is synthesense? The integration, interweaving, synthesis of all supposed unique senses. American culture is dominated by visual imagery promulgated by habitual auditory belief and expectation. Synthesense includes sight, hearing, tactile impressions, smell, and taste. In addition we have created technological extensions of each of our senses. An X-Ray machine gives our eyes a new capabilities of sense including the ability to see through some matter.

True knowledge exists in knowing that you know nothing.
Socrates (469 BC - 399 BC)

As for me, all I know is that I know nothing.

And in knowing that you know nothing, that makes you the smartest of all.

Learn to see, and then you''ll know that there is no end to the new worlds of our vision.

...the common eye sees only the outside of things, and judges by that, but the seeing eye pierces through and reads the heart and the soul, finding there capacities which the outside didn't indicate or promise, and which the other kind couldn't detect.

Strange that simultaneously Horror intermingles with Beauty. How are we to see through the tremendous suffering all around the country and the world. That is the challenge I propose to myself, as well as to you the seer.

Isomorphism is an information preserving transformation of a pattern between different media (mediums). I will quote in italics Douglas R. Hofstadter, who covers this concept thoroughly in his book Gödel, Escher, Bach: The Eternal Golden Braid:

Myth

Myth is a word used often in world culture. Lets take a conscious look at this image and some of its aspects.

For some millenia now there has been a group of people often refereed to as seekers. In fact it is a archetype of Carl Jung's. A passionate drive for knowledge, then the observation of the frontiers to create new knowledge, then the creative practical use of this knowledge to solve problems is their modis operandi. Many people are and have been seekers who strive with tremendous energy.

Any ad consciously attended to is comical. Ads are not meant for conscious consumption. They are intended as subliminal pills for the subconscious in order to exercise a hypnotic spell, especially on sociologists.
Marshall McLuhan

The first and perhaps the only, outcome of man''s will-to-understanding is faith
Oswald Spengler

Faith is much better than belief. Belief is when someone else does the thinking.
R. Buckminster Fuller

There is but one cause of human failure. And that is man''s lack of faith in his true Self.
William James

In properly organized groups no faith is required; what is required is simply a little trust and even that only for a little while, for the sooner a man begins to verify all he hears the better it is for him.
Gurdjieff

Precession is one of the fundamental mechanic forces such as leverage or torque. It is the effect of moving bodies on moving bodies and the force radiates outward perpendicular. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. These 180-degree imposed forces also result in re-directional resultants of 90 degrees and really spherically in all directions. If every action has and EQUAL and OPPOSITE force like say the amount of force delivered to a wall when struck causes simultaneously an equal and opposite force against the object which struck the wall.

Every man is in his own person the whole human race without a detail lacking....I knew I should not find in any philosophy a single thought which had not passed through my own head, nor a single thought which had not passed through the heads of millions and millions of men before I was born.

So when you are listening to somebody, completely, attentively, then you are listening not only to the words, but also to the feeling of what is being conveyed, to the whole of it, not part of it.

In solitude we give passionate attention to our lives, to our memories, to the details around us.

The reason I started creating this website was because i began to see suffering all around me. The suffering I am referring to is not caused by violence or abuse. This sickness or dis-ease is widespread. Rare is the person who is free from its symptoms. I term this dis-ease: Image Sickness. In this essay I will begin by defining what an image is and how images in the mind can lead to Image Sickness.

America is a tremendous gestalt resulting from a mix of all cultures of the world. Every culture's ideas, art, traditions, and beliefs are forming new combinations and patterns. This process has been accelerating for hundreds of years. Starting with the Native Americans and Europeans and later significant African, Asian, Hispanic, and people from every corner of the Earth. A tipping point of synthesis of all these cultures is resulting in the birth of a New Native American Culture. What is the character of his culture? What does this mean for us and the world?

Now. This idea is multifaceted. A pertinent definition from wiktionary is : Differently from the immediate past; differently from a more remote past or a possible future; differently from all other times. This is a definition of its usage as an adverb. The noun definition is : the present time. These are the standard definitions but I observe a deeper phenomenon which the symbol now represents.

Content and Media
Different media impact our sensory ratios differently and communicate different types of information.
The isomorphic translation of content between media can elucidate the physical message of the medium.

A media contains content which is itself a media. Each media can be content and the medium of content of other media. The medium of radio contains as its content the medium of speech.

Each layer of media affects the sensory ratio of a human's perception.

Each media affects the environment irregardless of the content of the media. It is the context.

What is information?

Wikitionary's entry lists several definitions but I want to pay special attention to this one : Data that have been processed into a format that is understandable by its intended audience.

The Wiktionary's definition is totally immersed in the subject human perspective information. Basically data that is understandable by a human is information. This is a very limited conception but its a good place to start.

Paradox is. To be aware of paradox is to see your own mind.

M.C. Escher, "Relativity," 1953 (picture below)

Prototyping to be removed later: {Signals, Symbols, and Meaning

Define signal

Define information

Define symbol

First is must be understood that the symbol is not the thing, the map is not the place.

It can then be known that things interact in concrete and predictable ways. Science

This progresses to the realization that the things-in-themselves can also act as symbols in a higher-order "mind." Molecules act as symbols for the cells of the body; proteins in there somewhere!

Young people of America, awake from your slumber of indolence and harken to the call of the future! Do you realize that you are rapidly becoming a doomed generation? Do you realize that the fate of the world and of generations to come rests on you shoulders? ... Oh ignorant youth, the world is not a joyous place. The time has come for you to dispense with the frivolous pleasures of childhood and get down to honest toil until you are 65. then and only then can you relax and collect social security until the time of your death
